Nelson-Mandela Park Pavilion
2012

The Nelson-Mandela park pavilion is located on a narrow site with little constructible space around it. The site constraints have encouraged the recycling of the existing building by extending it at its two narrow ends. This strategy increases the visibility of the building on Lemieux Street as well as its presence by the arena parking. The extension of the building permits the creation of multi-use rooms in the park pavilion. A new roof structure unifies the intervention and engages the public space by protruding beyond the perimeter of the building.
